![]() Have you already begun your plans for Valentine’s Day? Love is so special, and to have a special someone to share love with is even more special. Love works best in relationships when it is tended and fed—and it takes work and intention. Often around Valentine’s day, there is an attitude toward Love that inspires potions, spells, and magic candles. But real, satisfying, lasting love is not born from lighting candles surrounded by crystals and burning herbs. Real, satisfying, lasting love requires time, effort, communication, trust and spending time together kind of work. Yet, love spells and potions can be useful and helpful, if approached with the right attitude and intentions. Read on to find out how to avoid pitfalls of haphazard spell casting for Valentine’s Day. Two types of spells predominate around Valentine’s Day—both of which can produce unwanted results! ![]() The first type is that someone has left you, and you want them back, so what can you do!? Cast a spell and make them fall in love with you again. But maybe that’s not the best solution. Have you asked the person why they left? Did you listen to the response? What if there actually was a reason they left? OR…if they left you for someone else…Do you want someone what has left you to be with someone else? What if they just fell out of love with you? Do you want someone who no longer loves you? Were you the most kind, loving person who you could be when they were with you? Could you have done things differently in the relationship? When someone leaves a relationship there are usually real reasons. And too often you never have all the information, and there are always two sides to the story. Loving relationships are work. People who are happy in relationships work at it through communication, patience, understanding and hopefully a sense of humor. Do the work first. Maybe a spell will not become necessary. The second type of spell that is often cast around Valentine’s day is the “Bring me my Soul Mate” spell. Too often, however, the person casting the spell wants a specific person to be the Soul Mate. This sort of takes the Divine Order out of you connecting with your True Soul Mate. Just because you want someone to be your Soul Mate, does not mean that person is the best fit for your heart/mind/soul, no matter how much you want it to be true. Love spells are useful for drawing a soul mate as long as you aren’t targeting a specific person; they work very well if you want to spice up your current love life or keep fidelity in your relationship. When you want to do a love spell to attract someone to you, leave it loosely worded and release it up to the universe, which usually knows better than you do who your best fit is. What you want isn’t always what you need. On the other hand, while leaving a Soul Mate spell loosely worded, you will want to be very clear about the qualities you invoke in a spell to attract someone to you. What you ask for may not show up as what you think. For example:
